Robert Baurdoux – CEO
Robert holds an MSc degree in Mining Engineering from Delft University. After graduating, he worked for Royal Dutch Shell in various operational, technical and commercial roles in Brunei, Norway, Oman and The Netherlands and in 2003 was appointed to Shell’s Upstream Commercial leadership team for Europe, managing upstream commercial business in the UK, Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Ireland and Italy. In 2010 Robert joined Dyas, initially as Commercial Manager. In 2013 he was appointed CEO and during his tenure the Dyas investment portfolio was transformed by exiting a series of mature assets (including Dyas’ business in The Netherlands), and acquiring several new material positions in the UK, such as Mariner, Catcher, Arran and Jackdaw. To further the geographical broadening of the portfolio, Dyas acquired new positions in Malaysia in 2015 and Norway in 2018.
Alexander Berger – Executive Director
Alexander holds an MSc degree in petroleum engineering from Delft University and an MBA degree from the Rotterdam School of Management. After graduating, he worked for Shell International in various technical and commercial roles. In 2000 Alexander joined SHV Holdings as the Commercial Manager of its E&P subsidiary Dyas. In 2007 he was appointed Managing Director of Dyas, holding several non-executive directorships on behalf of the company: Capricorn Energy, Delta Hydrocarbons and Ithaca Energy. While working for Dyas, Alexander was instrumental in doubling the oil and gas portfolio through numerous successful acquisitions. After leading a consortium composed of Dyas, ONH and Sumitomo, which successfully acquired the energy interests of the Wendel owned Oranje-Nassau Groep, Alexander left Dyas in June 2009 to become the new CEO of Oranje-Nassau Energie B.V. (ONE). In 2010 he joined the Cairn Board as a non-executive Director. Since 2012 he has also been a non-executive Director of Discover Exploration. In his 10 years as CEO, the ONE resource base grew 5 fold and ONE became operator in the Dutch & UK sector.
Chris de Ruyter van Steveninck – CFO
Chris joined Oranje-Nassau Energie B.V. (ONE) as CFO in August 2012. Chris is a reservoir engineer, holding an MSc degree from Delft University of Technology. He started his career with ABN AMRO in the Amsterdam-based Mergers & Acquisitions team, after which he spent a number of years with the bank’s Financial Recovery & Restructuring team managing both Dutch and international special credits. He then moved to ABN AMRO in Russia (Moscow), where he was responsible for financing Russia’s largest energy and resources companies including Gazprom, Rosneft and Lukoil. In August 2008, Chris joined Gazprom Sakhalin Holdings B.V. in Amsterdam as Managing Director. There, he built up and led a team of oil & gas professionals responsible for managing Gazprom’s 50% interest in Sakhalin Energy Investment Company, to date the world’s largest integrated oil & gas project. During this period Chris also obtained an Executive MBA degree from SKOLKOVO Moscow School of Management.
Peter Nieuwenhuijze – COO
Peter has a background in electrical engineering and holds a bachelor’s degree in technology controls. Peter previously worked for Heerema and Wintershall Noordzee in several construction and engineering, technical supervisory and management positions both in the Netherlands and abroad. Peter joined the Oranje-Nassau Energie B.V. (ONE) team in 2011 as the engineering and construction manager, leading the development team of the Q16-Maas production facility and the Oranje Nassau Standard Satellite P11E development. In 2014 Peter attended the INSEAD TGM program and in 2015 he was promoted to Operations Director, followed up with a promotion in 2016 to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In his function as COO, Peter manages the operations team. Together with the CEO, CFO, Commercial Director and Technical Director he also sits on the Board of ONE-Dyas, which is responsible for strategy, operations and all acquisition/divestment related decisions. Peter is responsible for all operational activities related to HSE, Drilling, Production and Engineering and Construction activities.
Jeroen Hoonhorst – Technical Director
Jeroen holds an Ir. (MSc) degree in petroleum engineering from Technical University Delft and an MBA degree from Erasmus, Rotterdam School of Management. After graduating in 1990, he worked for Shell International in various technical and commercial roles in The Netherlands, England, Scotland and Norway working a.o. on Dunlin, Cormorant, Tern, Schoonebeek, Schooner, Ketch, and Ormen Lange fields. In 2010, Jeroen joined SHV Holdings as the Petroleum Engineering Manager of its E&P subsidiary Dyas, managing key non-operated assets in the UK (Buzzard, Elgin-Franklin, Golden Eagle, Stella). In 2013, he was appointed Technical Director and member of the Management Team of Dyas. In 2019, Jeroen accepted the Technical Director role of ONE-Dyas. Jeroen manages the technical team and sits on the Management Team of ONE-Dyas.
Thijs Israel – Business Development & Commercial Director
Thijs is Business Development & Commercial Director and joined ONE-Dyas in June 2015. Thijs obtained his MSc degree in Applied Physics at the TU Delft in 1997, and worked as management consultant at Arthur D. Little prior to obtaining his MBA from INSEAD in 2002. He then joined Shell and worked in Shell Gas & Power in various commercial roles in London, The Hague and Tripoli, Libya. In 2010 Thijs joined BG in Brisbane, Australia as Business Development manager working on the gas supply side for the Queensland Curtis LNG project . In 2014 Thijs joined the Westside Corporation Management Team as Commercial Manager, prior to his move back home to join ONE-Dyas.
Nick van Ooijen – Norway Managing Director
Nick holds an MSc degree in Geology from Leiden University and joined Shell International in 1979. He has worked in Shell ventures based the UK, Netherlands, Norway, Nigeria and Oman, whilst in-between taking global review and human resources roles at the Shell corporate centre. During this period his focus was on exploration, appraisal as well as commercial activities, whereby his last position before retirement in 2010 was as exploration manager in Norske Shell. Before joining Dyas in 2015 as exploration director, he worked in Hess and Sasol in various senior exploration positions. During 2017 he assumed the position as business development director in Dyas and later that year he also took on the role of managing director of Dyas Norge AS.
