North Sea gas production expanded: second production well N05-A brought on stream

ONE-Dyas has become the first natural gas producer in the North Sea to achieve MiQ’s highest ‘Grade A’ rating for methane emissions performance.
The independent verification underlines that cleaner, transparent and local gas extraction in the Dutch and German North Sea contributes to both climate targets and security of supply.

ONE-Dyas, together with its partners EBN and Tenaz Energy has reached a milestone in the energy transition: the cable connection between the N05-A platform and the German offshore wind farm Riffgat is complete and is being used to produce natural gas. This makes N05-A the first natural gas production platform in the Dutch and German North Sea to run on offshore wind energy.

The construction of an undersea cable between ONE-Dyas’ gas production platform N05-A and the German wind farm RIFFGAT in the North Sea can start. The Lower Saxony Department for Water, Coastal and Nature Conservation (NLWKN) had already granted the permits to ONE-Dyas in 2022, but has now issued another permit as a precautionary measure and ordered the immediate enforceability of all permits.

The Dutch Council of State (Raad van State) has ruled that ONE-Dyas can continue the offshore activities on gas production project N05-A.
