A day offshore

Adam McAndrew: “The typical day starts at 06:45 with a meeting held in the control room. We discuss the work ahead and make sure we all know where each other will be working. We’ll go through any potential hazards and the controls in place to mitigate them.

On any given day we may have to work supply vessels and land helicopters, not to mention routine operations and maintenance. Twelve hours later we’ll hold a final meeting and hand over to the night shift This is a 24/7/365 business.

After handing over, the team can make use of the impressive onboard facilities such as gym, entertainment equipment, or just calling loved ones at home.
A dedicated hospitality team provides three quality meals a day, while also keeping the accommodation clean and tidy and even taking care of our laundry.

We typically work two weeks on / two weeks off, with the opportunity for an additional two weeks leave to be taken over the year. Recently, however, the offshore colleagues voted to move to a two weeks on / three weeks off rotation, which is due to start in January 2024.

Working offshore brings some unique challenges that you would not necessarily face onshore. Yet the job can be very dynamic and it’s far from routine. Here we are in the business of solving problems, so you need to be creative in your thinking and able to take the initiative.”

Patricia Jonkman – HR manager

“I enjoy working at the intersection of two worlds.”

We are now looking for a HR Business Partner.

This is a really exciting time and, as you can imagine, it means that we’re getting busy. Which is why we need someone like you.

In this role you’ll become part of a close-knit HR team, consisting of three HR colleagues. You will report into the Senior HR Manager and act as a trusted advisor among your (HR) colleagues.

Besides being a seasoned HR Professional with detailed knowledge about Dutch labour law, you have also gained experience in an operational as well as a corporate working environment.

Experience in the oil & gas sector and with English labour law is a pre.

Needless to say, you’re eligible to work in The Netherlands.

CMMS Work Preparer

Discover one of most electrifying roles yet

ONE-Dyas B.V. is always on the lookout for great people to join us on our journey to near-zero emission production. We know that our success in North Sea exploration and production is powered by people. And we value our talented and motivated employees accordingly.

Our ambitious plans for expansion are opening up exceptional opportunities for professionals who share our commitment to innovation and technical excellence.

We are now looking for a CMMS (Electrical) Work Preparer

As an Electrical Work Preparer, it won’t come as any surprise that you will play an essential role in preparing and planning electrical projects. But there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. Because as a small, dynamic, and innovative company, we can offer you a multi-faceted position with a huge amount of variety to keep life interesting.

Take project planning, for example. You’ll create detailed work plans for electrical projects, which includes mapping out the timelines and identifying the resources required. Ensuring the reliable supply of electrical materials and equipment obviously comes as standard, so you’ll take charge of coordinating procurement and delivery, as well as adding equipment strategies into the CMMS system. By the way, you’re very particular about keeping everything on time and on budget.

Your technical side will revel in the opportunity to interpret technical drawings and specifications and work out what kind of materials are required for which tasks. As a people person, meanwhile, you’ll also enjoy the chance to work closely with project managers, engineers, and technicians to oversee the smooth implementation of your projects. Not only that, but you’ll act as an important interface between offshore personnel and third parties when it comes to providing maintenance support. At the same time, you’ll keep management and operations teams in the loop regarding the status of maintenance activities. That will be backed up by accurate records of all activities, including changes and adjustments.

It goes without saying that we prioritise the health and safety of our employees. As an Electrical Work Preparer, you will make sure that work orders all contain the information required to comply with all statutory and company rules and regulations. You will keep a watchful eye on maintenance activities on critical items and highlight any backlog to the relevant staff. In the unlikely event of any emergency, you will keep a cool head to assist with data retrieval.

So…who are we looking for?

You hold a vocational degree in electrical engineering and, ideally, you’ll also have hands-on experience working as an electrical technician or work preparer.

You know all about electrical systems, materials, and standards. Your knowledge extends to CMMS Systems and you are more than capable of analysing business processes related to the CMMS environment, making improvements based upon those insights, and using your problem-solving skills to apply maintenance theory in a practical context.

We’ve mentioned the fact this role involves a good deal of collaboration, so you’ll be able to communicate and present technical concepts with utmost clarity – whether that’s with our maintenance teams, the personnel onboard our production facilities, management, engineers, or third parties. Since we work in Dutch and English, you’re comfortable speaking and writing in both. Please bear in mind that although this is not an offshore position, offshore visits are a key part of the role. But you don’t need any previous experience and we’ll provide all the training required.

One last thing: you’re eligible to work in The Netherlands.

And what about us?

ONE-Dyas is the largest privately owned upstream oil and gas company in The Netherlands.

We’re bold, ambitious, and entrepreneurial. At the same time, we’re a real team that works closely together.

We’re always open to new ideas, enjoy the freedom to organise our own work, and value diversity. Above all, we put people at the heart of everything we do, providing equal opportunities to all our colleagues and doing everything we can to take good care of them.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at an exciting yet challenging time as we continue to develop the processes that support our shift to near-zero production. If you’re driven by the idea of creating a better, more sustainable future, ONE-Dyas might just be the place for you.

The at-a-glance requirements

Your education: Vocational degree in electrical engineering.

Employment Type: Full time.

Your languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.

Where you’ll work: De Zuidas, Amsterdam, Netherlands
